“Statement Mourning Unfurled, inspired by the memento mori tradition of collecting floral funerary ribbons, expands on this ritual by joyously unrolling and clumsily rolling yards of brightly colored fabric in the historic Glenwood cemetery. Mourning Unfurled reimagines the funeral quilt, not as a singular delicate textile but an ongoing billowing funeral cape of colored ribbons celebrating life.”
